Work and auto injury rehab in San Benito

Rehab built around the job you go back to

Grip is a physical therapy clinic for people hurt at work or in a car, and for the employers and adjusters who work with them. We start from what your job asks of your body.

Two ways in

One clinic, two starting points

A worker and an employer ask different questions first. Each has its own page, and both end at the same plan.

How it works

Work conditioning, in four steps

Work conditioning is practice for the job: graded, supervised, and built from your own tasks.

  1. 01

Step 1: We learn what the job asks

You tell us what you lift, carry, climb, kneel on or hold through a shift. We write it down and plan around it.

  2. 02

Step 2: We test where you are today

A functional test shows what you can do now, task by task, and what is still limited.

  3. 03

Step 3: We build up to the job

Lifting, carrying, reaching and standing, raised step by step, with coaching on how you move.

  4. 04

Step 4: We plan the return

Your therapist tells you and the people your case names what you can do now, and what comes next.

What work conditioning looks like on the floor

A session is hands-on and active. Your therapist sets each task to your job and changes it as you do.

  • Lifting from floor to shelf, with crates loaded toward your job's weight

  • Carrying, pushing and pulling over a set distance

  • Reaching overhead and working at a kneel

  • Standing and walking for longer stretches, built up over time

Questions people ask first

Do I need a referral?

In Texas, you can start without a referral, within limits the state sets. Your plan may still ask for one, and workers' compensation often does. Call us with your plan or claim details and we will check before you book.

Does my plan cover this?

We bill workers' compensation carriers, auto injury coverage and many commercial plans. Your payer decides what it pays. We check with the payer you name and tell you before your first visit.

What if I pay myself?

We give you a written estimate before your first visit, and we tell you what each visit includes. If a plan may reimburse you, we give you a detailed receipt to send in. The plan decides whether it pays.

How long is a visit, and who treats me?

Your first visit is about an hour with a physical therapist. Later visits vary. A physical therapist assistant may guide your exercise, under your therapist's direction.

I was hurt at work. Who do I tell?

Get care first. Then tell us who your adjuster is. Your state decides who may direct your care, and we explain what that means for you before you start.
